1. Japan loan to be used for 100 billion dollars DMIC project:

DMIC project: Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor project. So far the mega project was being developed only with Indian government financial assistance

DIMC covers six states:

1. Delhi
2. Uttar Pradesh
3. Haryana
4. Rajasthan
5. Gujarath
6. Maharashtra
Japan agency that provides financial assistance is- JICA (Japan International cooperation agency)

2. Indian third in Nuclear power installations:

As per recent study “World Nuclear Industry status report” India is third in the world in the number of nuclear reactors being installed (First-China)

  • She was conferred with AIBA Legends award last year

4. SBI launches India’s first bond index series

  • SBI launches FTSE SBI bond index series at London stock exchange 
  • It is India’s first bond index series for overseas investors
  • It is launched by SBI along with FTSE Russell (global index provider)

5. Government extends Chief economic adviser term to another one year

  • Chief economic adviser- Arvind Subramanian
  • Arvind Subramanian has authored the highly acclaimed “Report on the Revenue Neutral Rate and Structure of Rates for the Goods and Services Tax (GST)” in December 2015, which laid down the broad contours for implementing GST in India from July 1, 2017.

6. VIZAG railway station emerged as best tourist friendly railway station

  • Before Vizag railways station also selected as number one in cleanliness among A 1 category railway stations

7. Ministry of petroleum and natural gas launched Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat:

  • Union minister for petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan launched the 'Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat' from Mota Ishanpur village in Gujarath
  • Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat will aim at spreading awareness among the LPG users about how to properly use the clean fuel and its many benefits. 
  • The program provides platform to discuss benefits of use of clean fuel compared to traditional fuels like wood
  • "One lakh LPG Panchayat (to be held across the country) will deal with the issue of safe use of LPG as well as its various benefits, like environment, health, and how it empowers women

9.India replaces China as top retail destination in 2017


8. Pralay Sahyam exercise at Hyderabad:

  • It is Multi-agency humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise
  • The purpose of the exercise is to create public awareness about man-made and natural climate change and urban disasters including flooding
  • Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad hosts this exercise

9. Hunar Haat in Puducherry:

  • Organised by Ministry of Home affairs across the country to provide market and to provide opportunity to master artisans
  • Ministry of Minority Affairs working to establish Hunar Hub across the country to provide a platform to master artisans and craftsmen to display as well sell their products
  • The Ministry of Minority Affairs has organized Hunar Haat" earlier also at different places. In the coming days, Hunar Haat" will also be organised at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Allahabad, etc. to promote artisans and craftsmen. 

10. V-409, a new interceptor boat launched

  • A new interceptor boat V-409 built by Bharati Defence and infrastructure limited was launched at Mangalore
  • The objective of the boat is to provide coastal security

11. Book related to Mann ki bat:

  • Mann Ki Baat: A Social Revolution on Radio’ by Shri Rajesh Jain is a compilation of Narendra Modi’s addresses to the nation on radio every month under the programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. It contains a comprehensive, qualitative and academic analysis of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ – the themes, the choice of topics, the salient features. It illustrates how ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has connected with the ‘New India’ – the youth in particular.

  • Vanlalawmpuii Chawngthu becomes Mizoram’s first woman ministers after a gap of 30 years. Her oath was administered by Governor of Mizoram- Lt. Gen Nirbhay Sharma

  • Saudi Arabia has invited women to a sports stadium for the first time to attend the kingdom’s 87th National Day celebrations with their families. Saudi Arabia has strict restrictions for women, including barring them from driving.

  • Kuldeep Yadav has become the first Indian spinner and 3rd Indian to get hatrick in ODI. Before him, Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev take a hat-trick in ODI cricket

  • 24th September of this year is celebrated as World Rivers day. Every year world rivers day celebrated on last Saturday of September
