Panel to Find Solutions to Air pollution in Delhi-NCR Constituted

Union environment ministry formed a seven-member committee to formulate measures to solve the problem of air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region.


  • The seven-member committee will be headed by environment secretary
  • The environment ministry’s plans to tackle the pollution issue comes right after AAP government announcement of the Odd-Even rule in Delhi to tackle air pollution crisis there. The rule will be in place in Delhi from November 13 to November 17
  • Delhi’s air quality plunged this week with the air quality index (AQI), which measures the concentration of pollutants in the air, 465 indicating severe levels of pollution. 
  • The committee will ensure that the measures are implemented and the hotspots where pollution is a major problem are regularly surveyed to monitor the situation.
