Dominique Mineur has been appointed as the ambassador to the United Arab Emirates becoming the first woman ambassador in the kingdom.
Taking inspiration from Belgium, European country is also planning to send a female ambassador to Tehran, has not been officially announced by Belgium’s ministry of foreign affairs.

Gender-segregation in Saudi Arab

Saudi Arabia is condemned for constraints on women, gender-segregation and male supervision on women, the custom of covering women head-to-toe etc. Due to all these, the nation was ranked 138 of 144 countries in the 2017 Global Gender Gap. Recently the kingdom allowed women to drive cars, trucks and ride motorcycles next year, after being the only country in the world that banned women from being on the road. Still there are so many things that women in Saudi Arab cannot do like doing a job, travel, divorce and marry without prior permission of their male guardian. They cannot mix freely males or run their own business etc.
