Time magazine has named “the silence breakers” its person of the year for 2017, referring to those women, and the global conversation they have started.

Who are Silence Breakers?

The "Silence Breakers" is a group of five women who came forward to share their experiences of sexual assaults and harassment at workplace. These women are actors, singers rappers or just house-maids. But they gathered their courage to speak about their experiences. These women alleged some famous producers, news channel executives actors and other well known personalities. Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Alyssa Milano, as well as activist Tarana Burke are the Silence Breakers
Sara Gelser, singer Taylor Swift, and an anonymous survivors. Judd, Susan Fowler, Adama Iwu, Swift, and Isabel Pascual are pictured on the magazine’s cover and the magazine paid homage to these people for 
The women and men who have broken their silence span all races, all income classes, all occupations and virtually all corners of the globe. They might labor in California fields, or behind the front desk at New York City’s regal Plaza Hotel, or in the European Parliament. They’re part of a movement that has no formal name. But now they have a voice.
