All lanes at Toll Fee Plazas to be ‘FASTag lanes’
  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has planned to convert the lane into FASTag-only lane in a time-bound manner
  • The idea behind the conversion is to ensure seamless traffic, encourage digital payment and prevent congestion at toll plazas
  • Non-Fastag users will be charged double the fee after 1st December if they pass through FASTag-only lanes
  • The Ministry will make one ’hybrid lane’ at every toll plaza to facilitate and monitor over-dimensional or oversized vehicles, where FASTag and other modes of payment will be accepted
  • FASTag is an electronic toll connection device installed in the vehicle and deduct the toll fare directly from the bank account linked to FASTag
  • It enables drivers to drive through toll plazas without having to stop
