  • Lalji Tandon took oath as Governor of Madhya Pradesh on 29th July 2019 replacing Anandiben patel and prior to this, he has also served as the governor of Bihar.
  • Retired Supreme court Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri have been appointed as the ombudsman of the Indian Federation of Sports Gaming (IFSG) which is a self-regulatory body for the online fantasy sports gaming sector. Justice A K Sikri was recently appointed as a judge in the Singapore International Commercial Court.
  • Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa (Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yediyurappa) successfully passed the Trust Vote in the Legislative Assembly. He is serving as the Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time (2008, 2011, 2018, 2019).

  • Dalilah Muhammad set the world record by completing 400m hurdles race in 52.20 seconds at the USATF 2019 national championship meet held at Drake Stadium, smashing the record of 52.34 seconds set by Russian Yuliya Pechonkina in 2003.
  • US networking giant Cisco made a global partnership with Google for providing access to free and high-speed Wi-Fi at public places in India. The Google station model is named as ‘gStation’ will include operations at locations like railway stations, smart cities etc.
  • The 90 minute documentary ‘The Price of Free’ of Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi has been nominated for Outstanding Social Issue Documentary. It is based on his team's journey as they rescue children from the exploitative and illegal forms of child labour.
  • The Sniper Frontier Competition 2019 which is a part of International Army Games is scheduled to be held from 3rd Aug to 17th Aug 2019 in Belarus. It is a thirteen day intense sniper competition and examine flexibility of mind and physical fitness of army men with the participation of about 23 countries in the competition.
  • The 3rd edition of the ‘India International Textiles Expo’ IITExpo, began on 29th July in Colombo, Srilanka which is an exhibition cum buyer seller meet, organized by Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) under Ministry of Textiles. It aims to support Indian manufacturers, exporters and promote marketing of power loom products.
  • ICC (International Cricket Council) launched World Test Championship which will be played over 2 years between 9 teams (England, India, Bangladesh, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies) and its final will be held in the United Kingdom in 2021.
